In order to be certified against the NTA 8080, an organization has to be assessed by an independent authority: a certifying body. The certifying body does the audit for the organisation to assess if the organization complies with the relevant requirements.  According to the certification scheme, only certifying bodies that have entered into agreement with NEN are allowed to do these conformity assessments. This safeguards that the certifying bodies meet the quality requirements set by the scheme owner. The section NTA 8081 provides more information about this matter.
