NTA 8081
NTA 8081 describes the certification scheme, which includes the ‘rules' to enable certification against the requirements of the NTA 8080. The certification scheme includes:
- the scope of the scheme;
- requirements for the certifying body and the auditor(s);
- effort for auditing in man-days;
- method of conformity assessment;
- the frequency of assessments and the validity of the certificate;
- ‘minor' and ‘major' non-conformities and the way these non-conformities shall be dealt with;
- required data for the register and reporting;
- procedures for complaints, objection, appeal, suspension and deleting from register.
Valuable tool
The scheme aims at minimizing interpretation differences during the audit. This should result in the equivalence of the audit conclusions, independent from who has done the audit (provided that the auditor is recognised). A level playing field is created in this way.
Scope
The certification scheme distinguishes four types of 'scopes':
- 'Producer' for the organisation that produces the primary biomass or collects residual flows, as described in NTA 8080, annex A;
- 'Processor' for the organisation that processes or converts the (primary) biomass;
- 'Trader' for the organisation that trades in the biomass;
- ‘End-user' for the organisation that uses the biomass for the generation of electricity and heat or production of biogas or biofuel.
